Selling in Spring

Spring is an excellent time to sell your home.  People are coming out of winter hibernation and are motivated to begin their property search. We’ve got some essential tips to help you prepare when putting your home on the market.

Make a good first impression

First impressions count when showing your home. Spring is the perfect time to tidy your garden, empty the gutters, buy a new welcome mat, and address all the little details that will make your home appeal to prospective buyers.

Spring Clean

Now’s the time to de-clutter and tidy the inside of your home. Less is often more when you’re showing your home to potential buyers as it helps them to visualise how they could use the space.  Don’t be shy to pack away all your personal display items into boxes, clean out the cupboards (yes buyers will take a look!) and remove any unnecessary furniture.

Accessorise

Adding carefully selected items as display pieces will add personality and charm to entice buyers looking to purchase.  Simple changes such as updating your towels to the new spring colours, hiring furniture if your rooms are full of hand-me-downs and adding a splash of colour with artwork will create a stylish feel that isn’t over the top.

Restore or Repair

As a home owner you know all too well that there are always updates and repairs to be done, both inside and out. Fixing any issues now will reduce the risk of a keen buyer changing their mind on closer inspection later.
