Christmas is just around the corner (STOP. FREAKING. OUT!)
Seriously though, there is still HEAPS of time to work on your home decor! To give you a head start, we have put together 5 of our fave tips on how to style each room in your home just in time for the festive season, and even get the kids involved with some sparkly family fun.
1. Keep it festively simple
To avoid turning your home into Santa’s grotto, we love to add a festive touch to each room in the house without creating too much clutter. Styling mini displays such as a little festive greenery to your windowsill, a Christmas garland to the mantelpiece or a foliage wall hanging is just enough to add a touch of Christmas spirit to the room. After all, you’ve worked hard to design your personal home décor style and we don’t want to take away from your OG masterpiece.

2. Get the kids involved
Christmas is the perfect opportunity to get creative! Plan a day for the whole family to get together and make some beautiful decorations – they will mean so much more if you had great memories making them. Make a Christmas wreath for your front door, a Christmas bough to hang above your dinner table or a garland to drape in the kids’ rooms.

3. Let there be light
Nothing creates a festive atmosphere like lighting. Adding lanterns or candles to your hallway or bathroom with a few bits of twig/greenery is a great way to give a Christmas feel to any room. We also love these DIY hanging luminaires stars to makeover your front entry and get recognised amongst the neighbours!

4. Choose colours that match your scheme
Red, green and gold may spring to mind when you think of Christmas décor, but the 2022 Christmas colour trends now focus on a palette that’s much easier on the eye (and your home colour scheme). Think dark midnight blue or black with gold/silver accents … or bright crimson mixed with dark fir green for a more warm and tranquil mood. It’s time to experiment with these colour trends on your Christmas tree or as accent colours throughout your home.

5. Because we love nature
Another trend for Christmas that isn’t going away is nature and bringing the outdoors in with plants and greenery. Why not be playful this Christmas and swap out the fake pine tree for a beautifully fragrant Eucalyptus tree? You can also snip off some twigs to decorate the rest of your home!

How are you going to decorate your home this Christmas?
